Our Impact

Measuring what matters

“Our Impact” brings together the data and stories that show how Atmosphere Foundation’s programmes are making a difference. Impact for us is both numerical and qualitative: changes in people’s lives, in local systems, and in community resilience.

On this page you will find headline metrics and examples of how change is experienced on the ground.

Impact in numbers

We group our indicators into two areas:

  • People – individuals directly engaged in our work:
    • Teachers trained and supported.
    • Children participating in learning and enrichment activities.
    • Young people involved in skills, mentoring, or leadership.
    • Community members attending workshops or awareness sessions.
  • Community – changes at island or atoll level:
    • Communities and islands with active projects.
    • Local organisations supported through capacity building.
    • Community facilities and shared spaces strengthened.
    • Environmental sites where conservation or restoration is underway.

Figures are updated as projects are launched, expanded, or completed.

To complement metrics, we share:

  • Stories from the field – experiences from teachers, students, youth, and community members.
  • Case studies – focused looks at specific projects and approaches.
  • Partner perspectives – reflections from councils, agencies, and organisations we work with.

These insights help explain how and why change happens.

Learning and improvement

Impact is an ongoing process. We regularly review results, share learning with partners, and use evidence to adjust or scale programmes. We aim to be open about what works, what does not, and what we are changing as a result.
