Children with special needs remain one of the most marginalized groups the world over. At Atmosphere Foundation, we recognize the need for a shift towards inclusive educational systems to ensure that no child is left behind.
A State-run institution, Imaduddin School has been offering special needs educational programs at its Jewel Center since 2004. The centre has been facing challenges due to a lack of facilities to conduct vocational programs. In response to this need, we have built a high-quality, fully equipped training kitchen (Kakkaa Vathi) at the Jewel Centre at Imaduddin School in Malé.
A 6-month culinary program has been launched in December 2022 at the Jewel Centre. Registered and recognized by the Maldives Qualification Authority as a Level III certificate program, the curriculum includes both theoretical and practical sessions to provide students with a well-rounded education in commercial cookery and kitchen management. This program empowers students to become confident, independent members of society, with improved opportunities in the job market.
