Standing Up to NCDs – HA. Ihavandhoo
In HA. Ihavandhoo, a group of residents have decided it’s time to give their health a proper upgrade.
With support from Atmosphere Foundation, the Diabetes Society of Maldives, and the Adam Kaleyge Hussain Foundation, the programme began with community health screenings measuring blood pressure, blood sugar, body fat, and BMI. From there, participants are working with coaches to make everyday changes, moving more, eating better, and building habits that reduce the risk of diabetes and other non-communicable diseases (NCDs).
The goal is simple but ambitious: 150 minutes of exercise a week, healthier meals, and regular check-ups to track progress.
