Voices on a Clothesline – Domestic Violence Awareness

The Clothesline Project was organised to raise awareness around the world

about domestic violence and create a safe space for women to express experiences that are often difficult to speak about openly.

On 29 November 2025, 20 women gathered in Maldives for the initiative organised by the Association for Women Empowerment (AWE) and supported by Atmosphere Foundation. Each participant designed a t-shirt using colours, drawings, and written messages that reflected stories of strength, survival, and hope.

Hung side by side on a line, the shirts spoke in colour and words, sharing experiences that too often are left unspoken and unaddressed.
