Healthy Ageing – Hoarafushi & Ihavandhoo

Growing older should come with good company, good advice, and a few helpful check-ups along the way

In Hoarafushi and Ihavandhoo, Atmosphere Foundation continued working with Aged Care Maldives to bring health outreach directly to island communities.

During these visits, elderly residents gathered for health screenings, consultations, and simple rehabilitation guidance. The sessions offered a chance to check on common health concerns, learn ways to stay active, and ask questions about managing everyday wellbeing.

Family members and caregivers were also part of the screenings, receiving practical guidance on supporting aging relatives, from understanding mobility challenges to helping maintain healthy daily routines.

The programme is part of an ongoing effort to ensure that older members of the community receive the attention and care they deserve, with support that reaches them right where they live.
